Issue #01 — Update May 19, 2023

Hey, how's it going? 😎

The weather is finally not awful here in Minneapolis, MN, USA.

📚 Book Updates

Chapters 1-6 are now in technical review
After technical review, we'll prepare for the Beta release, possibly by July or August
We're still editing chapters 7-13

I've excited to see that so many reviewers have been able to take on the significant time investment. Thank you!

📣 Recent Activities

Last week I set up pgrailsbook.com to advertise the book before it launches. Thanks to reviewers of this page and content, especially Jeremy S. Thanks to Dave C. for the quote on the site.
I imported ~200 subscribers from my blog to seed this list, by asking them for permission to send book updates.
I posted on Mastodon and got a great response!
Jason S. tweeted about pgrailsbook.com, retweeted by Nate B. and others, and this brought in a lot of new subscribers. There are now around ~375 subscribers receiving this update!
TJ is excited about the book. And I'm excited to get it to TJ!

I also wanted to share some of my PostgreSQL blog posts from the last few months.
